Seachange conducts Recreational Boat Operator Courses (RBOC) and Licence Testing for all skill levels and age groups. Courses are run regularly, on demand, or privately at your choice of location if you have a group of 10 or more. Courses run approximately 4 hours, are designed to assist you in obtaining the knowledge and skills required to operate small vessels and of course, in obtaining your Recreational Boat Operators Licence.

This Licence is recognized nationally.

Key Benefits

The RBOC course meets National Maritime Safety Committee standards and is approved by Marine Safety Victoria and the State Training Board. All courses are delivered by a qualified, experienced commercial Master. Whilst Power and Sailing vessel orientated, this course also includes focus on Personal Watercraft (PWC) operation, water skiing and parasailing.

Course fees include RBOC Test and issuing of the Marine Safety Victoria approved training course certificate.  The holder of this certificate now qualifies for a Victorian Boat Operators Licence without the need for further knowledge testing.   Note:  Applicants must present this certificate and two forms of photo identification to any RTA office, along with payment for the licence period desired.  You may choose a one, three or five year licence period.

Courses can be tailored to your specific vessel and area of operation requirements, and delivered at a location, day and time to suit you.
